Social Program

As the economic condition of the masses improves, the foundation of a good social order is laid down: human dignity and social equality. Sound social principles shall be inculcated and fostered through the family, the schools, the State and the Church. Attitudes and behaviour in accordance with these principles shall be continuously promoted at every opportunity.

Marriage and the family shall be promoted and strengthened.

The basic population policy shall be efficient management of the economy, promotion of social justice, putting a stop to graft and wastage of public funds, and population distribution - so that as a result of all these, every family could raise the number of children which it freely and resonsibility decides to bear.

Scientific and technical information regarding human sexology shall be disseminated. Sexual abuse as well as abortion shall be prevented. Respect for human life shall be continuously fostered; anti-natal orientation, high-tech onanism, sexual mutilation as well as all forms of sexual perversion shall be prohibited or condemned.

The home shall be given emphasis as an educational institution. The schools shall supplement the children's education in the home. School education and training shall be made more relevant to the needs and opportunities of Philippine society.

The setting up of legitimate and responsible intermediate societies or private organizations shall be encouraged and assisted. These intermediate societies should handle all problems and enterprises that lie within their power to do so. Through them, the people shall participate in the drawing up of public policies and programs and in the implementation thereof. The intermediate societies will also watch the actuations of public officials and take appropriate action accordingly.

International societies in the Philippines shall be encouraged and assisted to establish appropriate and fruitful linkages with legitimate and responsible international private organizations.
